They absolutely hit fast-forward on resolving the 2016 Rushville Nebraska stuff. The Manhunter is revealed. The Manhunter’s M.O. is revealed. The pleasures that Hal has experienced in space are revealed. The whole crystal heart thing was real.

So what have they got cooking for the last 3 episodes. We gotta get Guy Gardner right?

You hear that Kwik Trip is removing all their hot dog rollers grills because people were gravitating towards the grab-and-go items instead of needing to use tongs and build their own snacks? That’s the best reference to a weenie that I’ve got.

Clearly the Guardian hologram isn’t a real Guardian. The real question is how deep does that lie go. Is Sinestro involved? Who is actually the Manhunter? How much do Zoe and Will Macon know about each other? Is it as straightforward as anybody thinks? Really building the intrigue but I get that this can’t live up to the magic of last episode.

Can we all come together as one peoples and agree that this is the best episode so far? Great placement for this bit of story telling in the 8 episode season. HBO is giving us the goods right now.

But what’s the deal with Guardians giving out diamonds for people in emotional distress. They think they can just buy off humans?

Jim didn’t want them to go deep into Green Lantern lore but that’s where we are going and so far it’s working out. We just need them to make sure they stick the landing.

Mogo, Earl, Manhunters, Sinestro. We are getting deep into the mythos that’ll need a lot of exploration.

Everybody said it was going to be True Detective meets DC and I was skeptical but it works. It works great and we are glad to be along for the ride.

Hal Jordan very reluctantly training his replacement for reasons we don’t know why yet. Who is doing these murders? Are the Manhunters involved? Is that a real rural Nebraska accent? So many threads to untangle as we continue on this season. High hopes that it delivers.
